This little seed has the potential to grow into this mighty
We FINALLY got to go out and about today! The weather hasn't been that bad so far this year.
I think it has been a drier then normal wet season! We've been doing things on the boat, as Bruce is recovering from minor surgery he had 2 weeks ago. We had a lovely day today exploring Kuranda and surrounds.
We had a big thunderstorm come across the marina this evening!

While in port

Well, we've kind of settled into a bit of a routine here in port. What a lovely marina this is! I'm in my 2nd week of teaching and sharing my passion, Dru yoga. Today I had two classes one at 6 am followed by one at 9:30. I have to admit I'm tired, but it is a good kind of tired! I had one of those sleeps that was disrupted by dreams of over sleeping when you know you have something important to attend! I'll sleep good tonight for sure! We have been blessed with unusually dry weather, and I have been enjoying a daily walk. I say unusually dry, but we are still having rain. I got caught in a rain shower yesterday during my walk came back soaking wet. At the present it seems to be raining in the evening and early morning then the sun comes out and dries everything up making it very humid!

Bruce has started on some of the things on his long list. Organising work to be done, haul out schedule, mechanics, parts ordered, ect. I've been attending to the inside of the cabins and continue to work on down sizing cleaning and reorganising. I am nearly finished with this job though. I've even sewn new curtains for all the windows!

One day soon we will have a ride around and take some photos of this beautiful part of the country, so stayed tuned!

Full Moon on the outer reef (Flynn)

The water today wasn't as clear. There were 100's of fish eggs like these in the water and the fish were eating them all up.

Along with the fish eggs was 100's of jelly fish the fish were eating these too!
This turtle swam right along side us and we watched it eat a jelly fish.

Bruce in the back ground in this reef.

Full moon rising over the reef.
The end of a magical few days on the outer reef. We have to return back to the marina tomorrow, but we feel SO BLESSED to have had this time on calm weather on the reef!!

We have stow aways!

We realised today that we have a birds nest up by the radar on the mast. I worried most of the trip out to the reef today as the little one was chirping and baking in the hot sun. Bruce hoisted me up the mast and I took down the nest with not one but two baby chicks in it. That was my first time up the mast, and was glad the mission was successful! The little birds are now inside the cabin with us getting hand fed. Fingers crossed they survive until we can turn them over to some wildlife carers once we are in on Tuesday.

I played with our new underwater camera!

We're out on Flynn reef, and the conditions are perfect!! The water clarity and the fish life is Amazing!!!! Here are a few of the photos and a video. We're staying here tonight, so we can do some more snorkelling tomorrow.

Reef Time

We had a weather window and took it. It is Friday the 6th of January and we are sitting at Vlassoff reef and it is  a glass out. Tomorrow off to Flynn reef for something new.The new camera is taking brilliant photos will post some soon.
Tom & Christy from Running Tide are out here too, and came on board for some sundowners. We had a GREAT time with them talking, laughing, & sharing! They may be out at Flynn reef tomorrow too.
Going out on deck now to get a breeze to cool off and look at the nearly full moon.
Good night.

Well the start of 2012

We had a quiet start to 2012, in fact we were asleep as the new year rang in. Although I did wake to some boom boom noises as the fireworks exploded ringing in the new year!
I've been busy the last few days cleaning the boat from the inside. We found a new product that kills mould spores and it is not chlorine based and is NATURAL! So I've been taking things out of closets, cupboards ect and cleaning all the surfaces. I am also down sizing as things come out, so that FEELS SO good! I finished the starboard side yesterday.
Bruce has been busy working on web development and working out some bugs, which has taken a lot of time and concentration, but in the end he was again successful!
As we are taking off in a few months to some very isolated places we thought it was time to have some medical check ups. We both went into the doctors today, and have some tests and follow ups later this week.
Now I don't want to jinx us, but looking at  the weather the last few days, and I see some glass out conditions coming up! Just maybe we'll get some reef time in at the beginning of the week. We will have to be back by next Wednesday as I am starting a Dru yoga class at Yorkies Knob Community Centre on Thursday morning. The first class in a 11/12 week term!
Now that the holidays are behind us we can start to get the ball rolling on a few things on our to do list which involves people other then ourselves.
Well thats all for now.
Oh yeah I forgot to mention we bought NEW CAMERAS for our Christmas/Chanakah pressies! We bought a Nikon coolpix for our underwater shots, and just out and about in my handbag, and a sony digital slr camera with a nice lense that Bruce has been playing with. I think he is getting into this camera, and shhhhh may be getting into taking photos with it. This will be good to see and I will post some soon. This sony is going to be a good one for the Kimberlies this year! We have been playing with the Nikon today as we did our errands as it has a gps inside and it actually made a track of our travels. That could be handy as we track through the bush up North. hahaha
